I love hot and super hot pepers and food in general. This one with move the need for those who love spicy foods. If you are not so in love with hot stuff, this may be a bit of a challenge. Overall, the taste and heat are fantastic!!

Great specialty popcorn with a few caveats. This will appeal to those persons who enjoy spicy foods with a lot of heat. I like the taste of ghost pepper and have this and several other similar products. Super hot pepper flavors have a tendency to burn people up, and overpower the actual taste. For those who eat a lot of spicy and very hot peppers and peppery foods and are tolerant to the heat, this popcorn tastes really good. It is quick and easy to make.The caveats:- The popping popcorn tends to aerosolize a little of the pepper. Breathing the fumes near the microwave may make you cough and irritate your throat when you first take it out. Letting it sit in the microwave and cool for 3 or 4 minutes before opening the microwave helps. Do not breathe the fumes from the bag.- Don’t give this to people who are not tolerant to very hot peppers. They won’t like you and you will waste good popcorn.- After eating this popcorn, wash your hands well with cool soapy water. Don’t touch sensitive surfaces with your fingers, like for example, rubbing your eyes is a bad idea if you still have some of the residue from this popcorn spice on your fingers.That’s it! If you like very hot spicy foods, then this is for you.

Spontaneous Combustion Popcorn by Southwest Specialty Food Co. of Arizona is the happiest of chilehead marriages, that of searing heat and delicious, complex flavor. Some hot snacks are one or the other, which leaves the consumer feeling short changed; that is not the case with this product: Grab a handful of this popcorn right out of the microwave and you WILL feel the heat, followed by a rich, buttery flavor that is difficult to describe. The corn pops up beautifully, with very few spinsters in the bottom of the bowl. Yes, it is an expensive product, but I do not know of any other spicy popcorn that is on a par with it. Caution should be taken when opening the microwave door, as this product produces a very pungent vapor that can get in your eyes and nose. It will be interesting to see whether Ass Kickin’ will come out with a Scorpion pepper popcorn or even a Carolina Reaper version; let us hope that it will. In the meantime, as far as stinging hot but also flavorful microwave popcorn goes, Spontaneous Combustion is top of the line.

Gotta like heat to appreciate the popcorn. I do suggest that after microwaved, open outside. My wife thought I was playing with my pepper spray. Fumes will cause light weights to cough a little.

Got for the hubby, he’s a fan of spicy things and he says – tastes great especially if you add a little butter to it to help even out the flavoring on the popcorn since it’s essentially plain popcorn with sprinkled on reaper seasoning. Highly recommends 👍

I purchased this after some of my favorite YouTubers received it from a viewer and made a video about it – she claimed it was the most delicious popcorn she’s ever had. Bear in mind that I’m not a microwave popcorn fan; it always smells better than it tastes. This popcorn is no different – it tastes exactly like your garden variety microwave popcorn except the spices added to the oil in the bag are kicked up quite a bit. I’m not very sensitive to spice and would say my tolerance is on the upper end of average. This popcorn isn’t completely unbearable but it definitely amplifies the more you eat, as with with most spicy foods. I didn’t find the texture or butter flavor at all different from regular popcorn and, again, the only difference is the added spices. Most of the spices/oil stuck to the inside of the bag after I’d dumped the popcorn out (typical w/microwave popcorn), so I had to get a spoon and scrape down the inside of the bag and distribute the scrapings into the popcorn to get the full effect. This is a good novelty item/gift to try, but I wouldn’t buy it again just for casual eating.

This popcorn is both quite spicy yet also very tasty and flavorful. It’s not so spicy that it’s impossible to consume like a normal snack, though I kinda wish it were harder to eat because even though my mouth can handle a large quantity, regret settles in via my GI tract a few hours later…It’s an accomplishment for a very spicy snack to taste good instead of like poison dirt. Beware of the air turning into toxic capsaicin fumes as is being microwaved though. Good ventilation recommended.

In terms of shipping, it arrive faster than expected in about two days. In terms of the quality of the popcorn itself, this tastes and feels like one of the higher quality extra butter popcorn you would buy off of the Shelf at the supermarket.Now what’s special about this popcorn? The difference between this and your typical one is that this has ghost peppers added to it either in the form of I guess a powder from the ground peppers or something of that sort.The heat level of this popcorn I would say it’s between especially spicy fresh jalapeno from the garden and a particularly spicy fresh serrano pepper from the garden. It will not give you that I have to sit here for 5 minutes with my mouth open having a kind of out-of-body experience feeling that you would get with an extract sauce, but it will give you the burn that you desire.Final verdict: I highly recommend this popcorn if you like spicy foods if you really like microwavable popcorn and like spicy foods then I highly highly recommend this please buy it. It is an absolutely excellent microwavable popcorn with an added kick that all Chileans will absolutely love it may even be a good introduction to spicy foods for a person who doesn’t typically eat spicy foods and /or doesn’t have much experience eating spicy foods.

As a first note, don’t trust the microwave to know better than you for this one. Do not use the popcorn setting unless you want like 1/2 unpopped kernels.That said, these things are great. I was afraid at first that there wouldn’t be too much goodness on these: you know, it’d look like an Arctic February with some flecks of ghost pepper on it. Flavorless natural popcorn with some spice. They are definitely not that. They definitely get pretty yellow, then there’s the spice, which is great. Oily and salty and spicy, and just what’s great about popcorn. If you’re really into spice this will be at a comfortable level; if you’re not this could get painful. Either way, this is highly recommended, especially if I can find it for under three bucks a bag somewhere…*edit* I mean, you can get it for two bucks a bag after shipping from the company that makes it if you’re willing to buy 50 bucks’ worth, but that’s $50 in popcorn.
