This makes a really cool, unique gift for someone who enjoys beer, hot sauce, and DIY projects. This kit is part cooking, part science which is cool. It comes with everything you need to make your own hot sauce, except for the beer. You choose and use your own favorite beer for a customized hot sauce. I also really like the included jars that it comes with. They have a rustic feel like you did really just craft your own hot sauce. If your looking for a fun gift for the man who already has everything this is perfect.

My husband has a knack for fermentation, cultivating micro greens, brewing, baking and all sorts of culinary pursuits — so I thought I could challenge him with hot sauce. While he nailed it perfectly, it was a lot of fun to watch him work and tell me about various hot sauce related information. This set is very Giftable and the quality is amazing.

Ok, this hot sauce kit has really impressed me. The included peppers and powders are fresh and fragrant (and hot!) The bottles are perfect for DIY hot sauces. The funnels are convenient.Overall I think this kit is perfect for those looking for a gift for a hot sauce lover or as a first foray into hot sauce making. With the amount and variety of peppers included you can really get inventive and create a variety of flavors. It’s a great value considering everything included and the fact that it can all be reused for future hot sauces. I’d recommend it!

OK so first lets address the item as a gift!1) Its UNIQUE! (We’re always searching for unique gifts. Dad / husband has enough socks and golf supplies! ok!)2) Its unusual! That’s great because he will NOTICE IT! He will stop, and read it. If hes at a party, aside from just a “thank you.. blah blah he will (if he likes beer and hot stuff) go WHOA! WHATS THIS??? I know I sure would!!!3) Its in a great looking box that demands attention and everything is clearly labeled.4) He will want to make this (Again *IF* he likes beer and hot sauce!)PRICE:Look at what you get. You get two bottles with hinged style pop up tops. (Thats what i call em at least) and they are worth around $10 online ($5 each). You get 3 bags of whole dried chiles (easily worth $2.50 each at any global mart) so thats $7.50. 2 bags of chile powders easily worth $2 each at any global mart. so thats $4. 2 funnels. well say .50 each. thats a buck. Gloves well say a buck. So right there were at $23. Then add in the recipe card, the box, and the presentation. Id say thats worth an easy $5. Thats $28. I didn’t think this out beforehand. Its just what I would say the stuff is worth and I shop global marts at least every other month (Id shop em more if they weren’t so far from my home). So Im very keen on current prices in my area. Yeah its worth every penny. Sure you could buy all the ingredients in bulk for less. No arguments there. But you’d be paying more overall as well. See my taste section for why this is an even better deal!FUNCTIONALITY:The only gripe I have is the funnels are TOO SMALL!!! I had to blend it a lot longer than I thought necessary because the ones provided kept getting clogged. I used the most famous high speed blender in the world (Vmix) and it wouldn’t make this thin enough to get it through the funnels. I did make it work. Just had to tap it a bit. I was jammin to some In This Moment while making this so its all good.Aside from that the entire set is PERFECT in every way! (As a hot sauce fanatic and a beer lover.)TASTE:The taste of my beers produced were VERY VERY VERY strong. RICH. DARK. SMOKEY TO THE HILT, THICK. even overpowering. An earthy deliciousness Ive never experienced! So rich and robust in fact that i prefer not to drink them as “beer”. Instead I take a tiny sip every night right before bed and I can taste it for a couple minutes while Im lying in bed! YEEEAAH!!! Now THATS how I like to fall asleep!I also add about a teaspoon of this to a regular beer (such as one of the usuals like bud or bush) when Im unfortunate to have one around. LOL. I prefer IPAs so have to find a way to make the cheap beers palatable. So if I buy a 12 pack of cheap beer, i can make all of them nasty lil cans a LOT better, which makes the value even better! LOL your tastes may vary but I find the usual beers kinda gross. I love my IPAs but hey, were all different! For instance, I wouldn’t drink either of the ones I used outright on a nightly basis. But thats me.INGREDIENTS:The ingredients are well packed, and all my chiles were correct. (I own an organic farm and grow and dry my own chiles btw) so i know chiles. Oh and spellcheck corrects “chiles” but YES it IS spelled “chiles”! Chili is a stew! You get plenty there to make several batches of beer long past the 1st two. So if you’re thinking $28… that’s a lot of TWO beers!!! well, yeah, but there’s beer at my local grocery store chain that’s $14 a can. (I’m thinking of one in a 14 oz black bottle) and this makes MANY cans/bottles of beer. Again everything works except the funnels, and you can cut the bottom off to make it a bigger opening if you want. Or just blend it more. The recipe card is cardstock laminated basically and you can use it for 20 or more years. I threw mine in the spice drawer for future bottles. It makes 2 totally different bottles of beer. Each having a different taste profile.PRACTICALITY:Well, before this set I had never even heard of beer hot sauce. Ill now make it forever. So I say practicality is 100 percent! I probably would have never have got around to trying it if I hadn’t received this set, so that’s practical. It makes something I consume most days better, so that’s practical. It makes many batches, so that’s practical.OVERALL CONCLUSION:FULL 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!!BUY IT NOW FOR YOUR HOT SAUCE and BEER FAN! Or buy it for yourself and taste something new and amazing! This is MY review, and Im in no way affiliated with the company but YES I got it through the amazon program. This is one of my longer reviews and if you appreciate the time and thought I put into the review PLEASE hit that HELPFUL button!Enjoy the pics as well.I included some pics of my cooking process and the ingredients I used (Including the beers I chose for this project) so please hit the HELPFUL button if you like them! This review took a bit of my time, but I don’t mind if it helps others. 🙂

An appealing kit for hot sauce lovers that requires no special talents and results in an excellent sauce. Begin by following the enclosed instructions which require a 12 ounce beer and two of each of the three included chili varieties then let it infuse for 10 days. I used a 16 ounce mason jar for the aging process so the contents would be easily accessible and visible. If interested in additional details they follow below. After the 10 days had elapsed I placed the infusion in a seriously powerful blender with the other recipe components–a carrot, cane sugar, white vinegar, salt and cloves of garlic. Blend until smooth, transfer the hot sauce to a saucepan, bring to a boil, turn down the heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Then remove from the heat and let rest for another 15 minutes.A few ounces were lost during the cooking process as the sauce cooked down so next time will at least partially cover the saucepan to reduce the loss. The included spices are not mentioned in this recipe but they may be used to customize the flavor although I thought it was sufficiently flavorful as-is. At this point if not sufficiently smooth it can be strained and then poured into the two included bottles but using the blender it was sufficiently smooth. The finished taste of the beer infused hot sauce is delicious and complex with a noticeable but not unmanageable level of heat. I am not certain the chili peppers in the kit are all correctly labeled but in the end that presented no issues. A fun project that results in an excellent batch of hot sauce.

I brought this with me when I visited my sister. Our family just love hot sauce. We put it on everything. And my brother-in-law brews his own beer so this was just perfect. Doing it yourself is a lot of fun. This kit makes for a great gift.

I just made this homemade salsa, it comes with a kit with a three types of chilis. I tried it with some tacos I made and it was delicious! I really recommend this product for anybody who is an enthusiast on making homemade salsas. It also comes with an extra recipe that’s delicious!

If you have a hot sauce lover on your gift list, get this kit. This isn’t my first time purchasing a hot sauce kit. The last one was adequate. This one really wowed me. It comes with 2 glass bottles with the swing tops. It then comes with 2 different recipes plus peppers galore. Really nice looking peppers too. Three bags of dried peppers, plus 3 packets of different chili pepper powder. Plenty in this kit to make a unique hot sauce plus inspiration for more. Very giftable.
